The programme
A Christmas programme that mixed classical and jazz. It opened with Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor on the cathedral’s pipe organ and closed with Taking a Chance on Love in Kirby Shaw’s arrangement. Between them came three Mozart pieces (Gloria, Kyrie and Lacrimosa), Natalie Sleeth’s Jazz Gloria, It Was a Lover and His Lass in the Swingle Singers’ arrangement, I Sing Out, Carol of the Bells, and jazz settings of carols including It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.
