Privacy

Your information

We collect as little as we can, use it only to run the choir, and never sell or share it for advertising.

Visiting the website

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and there are no Facebook or Google trackers on it.

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which tells us which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from, without cookies and without identifying you. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to that service.

Like any website, ours runs on a web server, which may keep routine technical logs of requests, such as the internet address a request came from and the page asked for.

If you switch the site to its light or dark look, that choice is remembered in your own browser and is never sent to us.

Writing to us

The contact form sends your name, email address, subject and message to the choir's email address, info@spectrumsingers.ca, where the volunteers who answer enquiries read it. It also includes the internet address your message came from, which helps us spot abuse. We use what you send only to reply to you.

To stop the form being flooded, the website keeps the times of recent messages from each internet address, filed under a scrambled form of that address.

Tickets and donations

Tickets and donations are handled by Zeffy, a free platform for non-profits. When you buy a ticket or make a gift, Zeffy collects the details it needs, and shares your name, email address and purchase with us so we can run the concert. Card payments are processed by Zeffy's payment provider; we never see your card details. Zeffy's privacy policy covers what it does.

Our ticket links (spectrumsingers.ca/tickets) count how often they are used: the time, which link, and whether it came from our website, a typed address or a poster's QR code. They record no internet address and set no cookies.

Videos

Concert videos on our pages are shown as pictures until you press play. Only then does YouTube's player load, in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and from that point Google's privacy policy applies.

Signing in as a singing member

If you sing with the choir, you may be invited to sign in to its members' pages with your Google account. Google then tells us your name and email address. We check the address against the choir's member lists (Google Groups) to see which seasons' music you can open, and keep a cookie in your browser with your address, those seasons and when you signed in, so you stay signed in for up to 60 days. We keep a short log of sign-ins, recording when and whether from a phone or a computer, but not who. We store nothing else about you. Your chosen voice part, and where you left off in the player, are remembered only in your own browser. The music itself stays in Google Drive and comes to you from Google, under Google's privacy policy.

Photographs

If you would like a photograph of you taken off this website, email us and we will remove it.
